The Grand Theatre is honored to host Grammy-award winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis with his quartet. Marsalis hails from a prominent New Orleans musical family. In a stellar jazz career, Marsalis has been a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, his brother Wynton's quintet, and has performed and recorded with jazz giants including Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie. Marsalis has also made his mark in the classical world, performing as featured soloist with acclaimed orchestras around the country. He holds the rare honor of being chosen a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master. His most recent album is critically acclaimed "Songs of Mirth and Melancholy," in collaboration with his quartet's long-time pianist Joey Calderazzo.
