In 2008, prominent storyteller Jay O'Callahan was commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of NASA through a theatrical presentation.  The result was "Forged in the Stars" in which the space agency's remarkable history is told through three prominent personalities -- J.C. High Eagle, a NASA engineer of Cherokee descent, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, and Christa McAuliffe, who was to have been the first teacher in space.
